Welcome to my blog!
I am a former teacher and current public librarian in Alabama, a grad student at the University of Alabama’s Online School of Library and Information Sciences, a former owner of the online bookstore Scripted Serenity, and an active member of the Alabama Library Association, Read Freely Alabama, River Region Writers, and The League of Women Voters. I also regularly volunteer with Prattville Pride and Montgomery Pride United-The Bayard Rustin Community Center, Thrift Store, and Special Library!
I’m also a hardcore Hufflepuff, a stuffy literature nerd with a history fetish, and I will make you listen to either NPR or 90s rock if you ride in my car. I love to frequent a bookstore or coffee shop, sporadically participate in Nanowrimo, study Spanish and ASL for fun, have a regular print newspaper subscription like a gd-elderly person, believes heaven is a dog rescue, and have left half of my heart in the beautiful country of Costa Rica!
My fiction writing style includes Young Adult/New Adult historical fantasy, nautical quests, solarpunk, alternative histories, sword and sorcery, and the four classical elements. Non-fiction includes academic research and personal narratives mostly about education and librarianship, which have been published in the Alabama Library Association’s journal Alabama Libraries as well as EveryLibrary’s journal The Political Librarian.
My fiction love includes sapphic fantasy, cottage core, nautical quests, historical romantasy, solar and steam punk, cozy mystery or fantasy, whodunits mysteries, and ecotopias. Non-fiction love includes art history, GLAM memoirs (galleries, libraries, archives, museums), nature/farming, education, writing guides, astronomy, journalism, and behind-the-scenes facts.
Let me know what you love and love to read!
